Founded in 1895, one of the most important events in contemporary art, the Venice Biennale is where countries have the chance present their most talented artists.
This year at the 58th Venice Biennale in the Romanian Pavilion professor at Partium Christian University (PCU) Fine Arts and Graphics, Miklós Onucsán will exhibit his works.
The jury of the 2019 Biennale chose curator Cristian Nae’s project to be exhibited in the Romanian Pavilion. The project entitled Unfinished conversations on the weight of absence is a joint project of three internationally acclaimed artists: Belu-Simion Făinaru, Dan Mihălțianu and Miklós Onucsán. Although they are well known in the international scene as well, neither of the three artists has had the chance to exhibit their work at the Venice Biennale.
The curator’s concept offers a view of the artists’ oeuvre from the perspective of the present.
Miklós Onucsán, professor at PCU Fine Arts and Graphics (Oradea, Romania), has become known at outsatanding international events. Among others, he took part in the joint exhibition held by the “Nicolae Iorga” Institution of Venice, in the events of Leipzig Romanian Cultural Resolution, at the Triennale of Paris, and the Dallas Biennale. In 2016 he received the Transylvania Hungarian Contemporary Arts Award.
